About the Artist

I received my art education from the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1975, and from Louisiana State University with a Masters of Fine Arts in 1977.

Following a family "law enforcement" tradition, I have served the public for over twenty-five years with the Baton Rouge and New Iberia Police Departments.

My art is a reflection of my life in southern Louisiana and  of my career as a professional police officer and S.W.A.T. team commander.

The dancers and others are from Mardi Gras and other Acadiana festivals.

I consider myself a contemporary realist and like working with pencil and freehand airbrush for the photographic "soft edge" quality of the media. I also like drawing with pen & ink because of the self-discipline inherent in its use.
